Real Support
The chicken hawks in the Republican Party seem to think that patriotism means sending other people’s children to fight for our standard of living and letting somebody else pay for it. Mr. Bush refuses to ask those who have profited most to sacrifice any of the tax breaks that have gone to benefit his “people, the haves and the have mores.” I would like to ask the bellicose “patriots” if they would be willing to pay higher taxes in order to support the war with more than hot air. It’s easy to support a war when all it costs you is the carbon dioxide you exhale as you flap your gums. Those who are unwilling to put their money where their mouths are don’t deserve to be taken seriously. If you really want to support the war, tell me how much more you’re willing to pay in taxes for that support.
