Freedom to Sin

Politicians who pander to the religious right (RR) are a greater threat to our freedom than the so-called insurgents in Iraq. The agenda of the RR is to enact laws that criminalize sin. The most basic freedom we have is the right to sin. Without that freedom how in hell are we free? The state imposed piety that the holier-than-thou crowd would legislate doesn't allow for personal responsibility.
So, while the Sunni And the Shia are busily beating the shit out of each other on the other side of the globe, the Publican* party has been conspiring with the RR to limit our freedoms until they fit within their narrow view of piety.

* The Republicans are quite fond of annoying Democrats by calling them the "Democrat Party," do you suppose they would mind being called the Publican Party? If you don't know the meaning of the word, by all means look it up!
