Pendulum Swings

It's starting to feel like the pendulum's looong swing to the right is ending. The stasis in our government is that instant when the weight stops before it starts swinging in the opposite direction. To everything there is a season, a time to swing right and a time to swing left, cause it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing.

Elections Have Consequences

I had an inspired thought on my way to work this morning so I went to the Online Dictionary to look up the word "anarchy."

"an·ar·chy [an-er-kee]
noun
1. a state of society without government or law.

2. political and social disorder due to the absence of governmental control: The death of the king was followed by a year of anarchy. Synonyms: lawlessness, disruption, turmoil."

Then it became clear, what I've been calling "faux cons" are actually anarchists. If "political and social disorder due to the absence of governmental control" doesn't describe the goal of the right wingnuts I don't know what does. Proof of this can be seen in the behavior of the neo-secessionists who would rather leave the USA than live in a country where elections have consequences.
