Like Deep Throat told Bob Woodward, "follow the money." Gun sales have sky rocketed since the Sandy Hook massacre. The NRA has taken full advantage of the opportunity by fanning the fear & paranoia of the gun fetishists. It's a lot more likely that some unbalanced soul who loved guns more than life was influenced by an unscrupulous merchant of death into dramatically showing what those weapons can do. The reaction was predictable. Sane people said that something needs to be done. Those who profit from gun sales stirred the paranoia & the lemmings lined up at the gun store, anxious to hand over their hard earned money to the cynics who set the whole thing in motion.
Meanwhile, the NRA's piece of the action grows with every gun that's sold.
